And while customarily Javanese Muslim brides wear a headscarf (loosely over the chignon or hairdo, without fastening it anywhere like a 'jilbab' or 'real Muslim women's headgear'), Bunga didn't wear one, although the custom is only for the wedding ceremony, namely the formal nuptial rites. Not for wedding parties.The Javanese customs obliged her to wear earrings, bracelet and necklace that were given by the groom's family in the seserahan party and not to wear her own jewellery on this occasion, to show respect and obedience to her mother in-law and the clan of her husband'
