Solonese bride
Andang wears the Indonesian Muslim attire of koko shirt and black peci cap, Bunga is in a modern Javanese kebaya with the Solonese hair accessories of jasmine. She would be wearing five kinds of fresh jasmine, roses and ylang-ylang
hair accessories in most of the parties, since they are the attribute that distinguish the bridegroom in Java. But all of her wedding dresses are not really traditional except one. And while customarily Javanese Muslim brides wear a headscarf (loosely over the chignon or hairdo, without fastening it anywhere like a 'jilbab' or 'real Muslim women's headgear'), Bunga didn't wear one, although the custom is only for the wedding ceremony, namely the formal nuptial rites. Not for wedding parties.
The Javanese customs obliged her to wear earrings, bracelet and necklace that were given by the groom's family in the seserahan party and not to wear her own jewellery on this occasion, to show respect and obedience to her mother in-law and the clan of her husband'
